Observe the Moon Night

Saturday night, October 5, is the
First Quarter Hunter’s Moon, and it’s also the
“2019 International Observe the Moon Night”.

Saturday – October 5, 2:30 p.m. update: Weather conditions have cancelled this weekend’s “Observe the Moon Night” event.

The Astronomy Club of Asheville will have telescopes set up from
7:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at two public locations to share the views of our satellite: Pack Square in downtown Asheville and the Tanbark Ridge Overlook off the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Come by and see the Moon’s craters, “seas”, mountains, and shadow patterns (cast by the Sun’s light) up close!  On this same night, the planet Saturn will appear positioned very close to the Moon.
