Saturday night, October 5, is the
First Quarter Hunter’s Moon, and it’s also the
“2019 International Observe the Moon Night”.
The Astronomy Club of Asheville will have telescopes set up at a few public locations to share the views of our satellite. Check back, as we will post those observing sites soon.
Then come by and see the Moon’s craters, “seas”, mountains, and shadow patterns (cast by the Sun’s light) up close. On this same night the planet Saturn will be positioned very close to the Moon.
