Monthly Indoor Meetings

Good news! In-person meetings will resume in April, 2022. In addition, you may choose to attend online, using the Zoom platform. Please visit this page for details of the next meeting and registration instructions.

Our monthly indoor meetings are free and open to visitors. The club is dedicated to helping people understand and enjoy astronomy at all levels of interest. The typical meeting attendance varies from 70 to 120 people.

With the exception of January and July when there are no meetings, we normally meet the first Thursday of each month from 7-9 p.m. on the campus of UNC-Asheville at the Reuter Center, in the Manheimer Room.  The Reuter Center is located at the top (north end) of the UNC-Asheville campus map.  There is free parking at the Reuter Center.

For more information about the next meeting, see the “home page”.

The indoor meetings usually include a brief discussion and/or announcement of significant monthly sky events and upcoming club star gazes, plus a guest speaker presentation on topics of astronomical interest. The monthly speaker presentation is part of the Astronomy Guest Speaker Series – a collaboration of the Astronomy Club of Asheville and UNC-Asheville.
